Privacy & Cookie Policy
Last updated: 28 October 2026
JH Collective (“JH Collective”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, who processes it for us, and the choices you have. We intend to handle personal information in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
1. Who is responsible
Questions and requests go to our Privacy Officer at contact.jhcollective@gmail.com. [Privacy Officer name and mailing address to be added.]
2. Information we collect
- Enquiries and call requests: your name, email, phone number with country code, company and website (optional), services you’re interested in, your goals or message, and — for a call request — your preferred day, time and timezone.
- Growth audit requests: the details above plus your industry, location, current marketing channels, main challenge and approximate ad budget.
- Newsletter signups: your email address and, only if you choose texts, your mobile number.
- Marketing permissions: for email and for text messages separately — whether you opted in, the exact wording you agreed to and its version, the date and time, the form and page you used, whether you confirmed your email subscription, and any later unsubscribe, opt-out or bounce.
- Abuse prevention: a one-way hash of your IP address (we don’t store the address itself) and your browser’s user-agent string, saved with each submission.
- Campaign source: campaign parameters in the link you arrived from (such as UTM tags or ad click IDs) are kept in your browser for the current session and attached to any form you send, so we know which channels bring enquiries.
3. Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry, arrange a call you requested, and provide services you ask for.
- To send marketing email or texts — only if you opted in to that channel.
- To understand and improve our website and advertising — only if you allow optional cookies.
- To protect our forms against spam and abuse.
- To meet legal, accounting and regulatory obligations.
4. Emails and text messages
- You can contact us without agreeing to any marketing. When you send a form we email you a one-off confirmation and reply to your enquiry; neither is marketing.
- A call request is not a booking. We confirm a time by email, and the call is booked only once we confirm it. For a confirmed call we email you a calendar invite and reminders 24 hours and 1 hour before, a note if the time changes or the call is cancelled, and an offer to rebook if we miss each other. These are about the call you asked for, not marketing.
- Newsletter email is sent only after you opt in and confirm from the link we email you (double opt-in). Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect straight away.
- Marketing texts are a separate opt-in that needs your mobile number. We record that permission now but don’t send texts yet; when we do, you can reply STOP to any text to opt out. Message and data rates may apply.
- Your cookie choices are never treated as permission to email or text you.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
Optional cookies are off by default. Their scripts don’t load until you turn them on.
- Essential (always on): this site stores your cookie choice in your browser (
jh_consent_v1) and keeps campaign parameters for the current session (jh_attr). Our hosting provider may set cookies needed for security and reliability. - Analytics (optional): none in use at present.
- Advertising (optional): none in use at present.
If you turn a category off later, we delete the cookies it set on this site and reload the page so its scripts stop. Change your choice any time: .
6. Service providers
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with providers that help us run this website and reply to you:
- Resend (United States): delivers the emails this site sends (confirmations, notifications, call emails and newsletter emails). Your contact details and permissions are kept in our own database.
- Google (Gmail): our inbox at contact.jhcollective@gmail.com, where enquiries are delivered and answered.
- Website hosting and database: [hosting and database provider to be confirmed at launch].
Some providers may store or process information outside British Columbia or Canada, including in the European Union and the United States, where it may be subject to local law.
7. Retention
We keep enquiries and their consent records for as long as needed to respond, provide services, and show that we had permission to contact you. [Retention periods to be confirmed.]
8. Safeguards
Form submissions are sent over encrypted connections and saved on our servers, not in your browser. Access to submissions and to our email provider is restricted, and the keys that connect them are kept on the server.
9. Your choices and rights
- You may ask to see or correct your personal information.
- You may withdraw marketing permission at any time — use the unsubscribe link in any email, reply STOP to any text, or email us.
- You may change cookie preferences at any time.
To make a request or complaint, email contact.jhcollective@gmail.com. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
10. Sensitive information
Please don’t send health, legal-matter or other sensitive personal details through our forms. We don’t need them to reply.
11. Changes
We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest change. See also our Terms of Use.
